We recorded Danger On The Beaches in my family's secluded vacation home in Moultonbourough NH in early fall 2013. Jun, Jon, Sam and I cut the rhythm tracks and Jon's overdubs in 3 days. While Sam and I finished overdubbing, Justin Kahn joined us for a couple weeks. He plays banjo, Mandolin, Guitar, hand percussion and sings throughout. Katie Ortiz and I worked together to finish the vocal arrangements in the months following our return to New York.

We played most these songs out, often with the Brad, Lauren, Helen line up you hear on "Put The Wrong One Down", sometimes with Giani on guitar, for two years before recording them and you can hear it. It is a very personal record. At the time I was writing these songs I was dealing with serious chronic depressive issues, coping by taking lots of substances, and realizing my choices were going to prevent me from finishing college on time. I was angry and lashing out, i needed to be medicated. I wasn't well but it made good rock n roll.
